September 1 may be a day off for residents of the UAE

In 2019, September 1 may be declared a day off in connection with a religious holiday.

Dubai, UAE. September 1, 2019 is likely to be declared a day off for public and private sector workers in the United Arab Emirates in connection with the religious holiday, the New Year according to the Muslim calendar (Hijra).

According to the Center for Space and Astronomy, the new month of Muharram, the first month of the new year according to the Hijra, will most likely fall on Sunday, September 1. This will be finally confirmed by the Moon Observation Committee. On the occasion of the holiday, all working residents of the UAE will receive an additional day off.
