To visit Dubai's public parks, you now need to have a Nol card

Nol payment card is now required to visit Dubai's public parks.

To get to the Al Mamzar, Za'abeel, Mushrif and Creek parks, visitors no longer need to buy paper tickets. Instead, they will need to use the Nol payment card, a smart system operating in any form of public transport in the emirate.

In partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai municipality has previously installed 70 smart entry systems in four public parks so residents can use Nol cards to pay fees.

Those who do not have Nol cards will need to purchase a one-time card worth 25 dirhams ($ 6.8). It can be used for passage by families or groups of friends, as well as when traveling by public transport, including buses, subways, taxis and water taxis. Cards can be replenished at the registration desks of the park or at Nol machines, which will be placed here next year.

Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al Awadhi, director of the public parks and horticulture department of the municipality of Dubai, said the goal of the initiative is to create an intelligent integrated payment system to eliminate queues and reduce waiting times.

He noted that to pass no longer require the participation of employees. Special entrances for people with special needs will also be installed at the entrances, with free tickets for the two accompanying visitors.

Smart access systems, first installed in Mushrif Park back in April, also allow people to use Smart Nol, an application through which operations are performed on a mobile phone.

Nol cards are used extensively in Dubai's public transport, which is why, according to Al Avadhi, they formed a "whole culture."

Khaled Al Avadhi, director of the automated fundraising system at RTA, said that more than 700,000 visitors have used smart access systems since they were installed in four parks over the past eight months.

According to Al Avadhi, it may take time for people to adapt to the new system. He encouraged the community to work with organizations that provide new technologies that make life easier.

Nol Silver, Gold and Blue cards, as well as special cards from RTA can be used to pay for entrance to the parks. The fee for access to public parks will remain the same, officials said.
