To retell the plot of the film is an ungrateful occupation, it is worthwhile to limit yourself to hints. And is it possible to describe in words for two hours in a row a cascade of breathtaking stunts shot from all possible plans, panoramas and foreshortenings that does not breathe out? The seventh Fast and the Furious was filmed in the USA, Japan, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates. In Abu Dhabi, the entire heroic company, led by Vin Diesel, had to change the shirts and grinders for dresses and tuxedos from Tom Ford and Herve Leger in the story, and the fleet in the order spent by jumping from an airplane and shooting in the mountains was also something more or less appropriate to the place.

But luxury was luxury, and no one took off the basic duties of the “afterburners”. The heroine Michelle Rodriguez, for example, has to fight at the party of one of the sheikhs with the head of his guard in the performance of the champion in fights without rules Ronda Rosie. The stiletto fight was staged by the famous “Twilight” and “Iron Man” fights choreographer Jeff Imada, “combat” evening dresses were designed in Herve Leger. Michel herself is inclined only to thank the screenwriter Chris Morgan for all this: “We need to somehow grow out of youth fashion, periodically look at ourselves from the outside. Frankly, I personally like to dress up.”

Dennis McCarthy, who joined the film group back in 2006 on the set of Tokyo Drift, was responsible for choosing the fleet. This “transportation manager” and big nitrous oxide specialist chose the 2015 cherry Dodge Charger for Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), the blue McLaren P1 for Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker, who died tragically before filming), the black Dodge Viper 2014 years for Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), a yellow Ferrari 458 for Tedge Parker (Chris Bridges) and a white 2012 Bugatti Veyron for Roman Pierce (Tyrese Gibson). All this heavy-duty squadron looks quite organic against the background of the Emirates Palace Hotel, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Yas Marina racetrack and is not particularly out of the general stream.

Another auto hero is waiting for his fate on the 60th floor of one of the towers of Etihad Towers, the architectural dominant of Abu Dhabi. In 2006, the DBI Design architectural bureau that designed this complex was unlikely to expect that one day a red Lykan HyperSport with diamond headlights would fly at full speed from one tower to another, as if an elephant would beat inside the entire Qin dynasty's terracotta army and then jump into next tower.

A car with a tuned 3.7-liter “heart” from Porsche was put into operation in the same 2012 as the five Etihad towers. Its homeland is Lebanon, the assembly point is Dubai, power is 740 horsepower, top speed is 385 km / h, acceleration to hundreds is 2.8 s. In general, everyone loves the “afterburners”, but they can only afford tuxedos with this $ 3.4 million supercar. Even if you just need to unscrew the navigator.

More expensive than Lykan HyperSport in this world are only Maybach Exelero (8 million) and Lamborghini Veneno (4.5 million). However, since February 2013, when the sample was exhibited at the Qatar auto show, seven such cars have already been sold. Lebanese car designer Ralph Debass moved to Dubai in early 2013, and now the W-Motors company he created is assembling the only HyperSport model there, but has already announced the expansion of the line. A six-cylinder engine with two turbines “brought to mind” in the German engineering company Ruf Automobile GmbH, a carbon body was painted in Studio Torino. This is the first car in the world in which LED headlights use diamond lenses, a total of 420 stones of 15 carats each.

Of course, all the airy balance between the towers of this "jeweler" was rendered by computer geniuses Michael Wassel and Calvin McIlvein. When shooting the film, not a single architectural and automotive masterpiece was damaged. Although Dennis McCarthy and prepared just in case five copies of the unique supercar Made in UAE.

Filming "Fast and the Furious" in the Emirates took two weeks. In April 2014, they started from the oasis of Liva, then moved to the city. Permission for helicopter shooting was not in vain - the aerial panoramas of Abu Dhabi were no worse than the terrestrial ones. Each shooting day of the famous team was a holiday for local residents, they say that even members of ruling families came to look at the shootings.

“The scenes in Abu Dhabi added a special exoticism to the film,” says Fast and Furious director James Van. “We tried to find a balance between the luxury of this place and special cultural traditions - a balance that could give the film a certain oriental charm. Our fans haven’t seen, so that in a sense, Fast and the Furious 7 entered a new chapter in the history of the franchise.
