After Dubai won the competition to host EXPO 2020, the city was in the center of attention of the whole world - here, the concept of transforming Dubai into the most developed city on the planet is being implemented with might and main. The Sheikh Rashid bin Said Bridge, or Sixth Crossing, in the Dubai Creek area, will become the world's largest arched bridge. The length of the main span will be 667 meters, the total length of the bridge is 1.6 kilometers, the width is 64 meters, and the height above the water level is 15 meters. The construction of this bridge, designed by FXFOWLE Architects, will cost AED 2.5 billion and will be part of an ambitious 3-billion-dollar road project. It is planned to complete the work in 2015.
