Marriott will open two new hotels in Dubai

Courtyard and Residence Inn hotels run by Marriott will open in Dubai by 2020.

Marriott International and Khasas Group of Investment LLC have signed an agreement to create Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott in Dubai's Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC).

With the scheduled opening in 2020, these two hotels will add 250 rooms to the Marriott portfolio in the UAE and help strengthen the company's position in the mid-price segment of the region’s market.

“We are delighted to work with the Khamas Group to open the new Courtyard and Residence Inn in the upcoming JVC Development, which is strategically located and in close proximity to the World Exhibition venue in 2020,” said Jerome Briet, vice president of Marriott International Middle East.

"This agreement not only confirms our desire to expand the Marriott International portfolio in the UAE, but also strengthens the demand for hotel projects in the mid-price segment of the market," he added.

Courtyard by Marriott JVC will offer 150 rooms, while the Residence Inn by Marriott JVC will add another 100 rooms to the company's portfolio. The combined hotel complex will include additional facilities, including restaurant facilities, a health and entertainment club with a swimming pool and conference rooms.

Hotels will be located in close proximity to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, providing access to Dubai's main business districts and attractions. The project is also a 25-minute drive from Expo 2020 and Al Maktoum International Airport.

WSW architects have been appointed to lead the project, and WA International will be responsible for interior design.

Courtyard by Marriott currently manages six properties across the Middle East and Africa and plans to double its portfolio with 12 properties to open in the next five years. Over the next five years, the Residence Inn by Marriott network will expand to 11 new properties throughout the region.
