UAE Airlines to acquire more than 20 new Boeing aircraft in 2012

More than 20 new Boeing aircraft will be available to the three largest carriers in the United Arab Emirates - Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Flydubai.

This was announced by Jeff Johnson, president of Boeing in the Middle East. “Etihad Airways has become our first customer to buy the 787 Dreamliner. And we hope that the carrier will also be the largest operator of this series of liners. Currently, more than 140 orders for this model have been received from the Middle East region,” Johnson said. He also noted that the United Arab Emirates ranks third in the world in acquiring manufacturer aircraft after the United States and China.

“In the Middle East, over the next 20 years we will sell 2.5 thousand aircraft for a total of US $ 450 billion. This is how we value this market,” the president of the company said. He also noted that the purchase of boards of the Boeing 777 opened up new opportunities for the regional market. "For example, Emirates Airline can fly these planes around the world - to Houston, and to Los Angeles, and to Asia," said Jeff Johnson.
