New Stars of Star Hunt 2013

For the third year in a row, the Dubai Outlet Mall (DOM) has hosted the Star Hunt contest, the main goal of which is to identify young talents who want to work in the fashion and model business and work with well-known clothing and footwear brands and accessories ...

Only 20 young men and women of different nationalities were able to "get" to the final competition and fashion show, which is traditionally held on the catwalk in the DOM. Among these finalists, the main struggle for the title “Star of 2013” ​​unfolded, which is a ticket to the fashion and entertainment industry.

The tough selection process began in November 2012. Of the hundreds of applicants, only ten boys and ten girls were selected. Despite the fact that they were all representatives of different countries, cultures and traditions, all of them were united by one goal, inspired by which they were going to win the title of “The Best Model of the Podium” in the framework of the competition.

The finalists represented the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, the USA, Russia, Nigeria, Brazil, Afghanistan, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, Argentina, the Philippines and Pakistan.

For more than two months, the finalists worked hard, improving their knowledge in such tricks as self-care and their appearance, fashion shows, choreography, hair styling, makeup, skin care, proper nutrition, self-presentation to the media and much more.

By adding a new level to the event and adding even more glamor to it, this year the brands and participants - DKNY, Aftershock, Lui Jo, Si Fashion Gallery, Basic Baxx and Al Jaber Optical - provided all possible assistance to both participants and organizers. They provided contestants with clothes and accessories from their new and most popular collections.

Fashion industry experts from leading UAE media were invited to evaluate the talent and efforts of the participants, including, of course, the largest Russian-language publishing house Russian Emirates in the Middle East region.

Contestants competed in two categories. The first is Mr. and Miss "Popularity," which were to be chosen by counting the votes of the audience during the final fashion show and "likes" on the DOM Facebook page. Voting on this social network took place over two weeks.

The second and most important is the Star of the Star Hunt 2013 Contest. The victory was awarded by a competent jury, the members of which evaluated the finalists by a variety of different parameters.

The winners were: among the applicants for the role of the male model - Mohammed Shakir from India, and among the girls - the young and extremely charming Russian woman Daria Degtyareva. They received many valuable and pleasant prizes: professional photography and creating their own portfolio with the help of professionals; 12 pages in the DOM magazine; the opportunity to make free purchases in stores of luxury brands of the shopping center; Fuji Film cameras as a gift from Grand Stores.

Recall that the Dubai Outlet Mall is the only one of its kind in the UAE shopping center, located outside the city of Dubai. It refers to this type of shopping center, where manufacturers trade directly from warehouses through their company stores. Prices in this shopping center are initially lower by at least 30% than in other shopping centers in Dubai located within the city. Discounts are provided 365 days a year.
