Stories of the Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi

The Louvre Abu Dhabi continues to replenish its collection: the latest acquisitions will be presented to the public at the Manarat Al Saadiyat Gallery from June 21 to August 30.

Continuing to acquaint the residents of Abu Dhabi with future exhibits of the Louvre Museum, the UAE government has announced the completion of a permanent collection, which will be seen at the Manarat Al Saadiyat Exhibition Center from June 21. This time the exhibition will be divided into two parts - "Stories of the Louvre Abu Dhabi: Al Qalam" (translated from Arabic as "Writing cane" (68th surah of the Holy Quran), the exhibition will be available from June 21 to July 25, and " Stories of the Louvre Abu Dhabi: Immortal Figures, the exposition is available from July 28 to August 30. Both exhibitions will include the Fayum portrait, which is an excellent example of Egyptian funerary painting.

The first exhibition will be connected with the art of writing, visitors will be shown ancient manuscripts, including the Koran, miniatures and manuscripts. At the second exhibition, you will be able to get acquainted with numerous sculptural creations, including wooden cult statues of Uli from New Ireland, the Nepalese figure of Maitreya from gilded copper and the Italian bust of St. Martyr Peter. All of these exhibits were purchased by the government for the permanent collection of the future Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi.
The permanent collection of the museum complex of the Louvre Abu Dhabi will consist of more than 500 exhibits, which due to the unique vision of the organizers will not be divided into separate expositions by time and geography of origin, but, on the contrary, will be adjacent to each other, explaining how the same themes in art were considered differently in different eras.
The exhibition will work from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 20.30 to 23.00 - during Ramadan, and from 09.00 to 20.00 - after its completion.
