The Dubai art gallery Andakulova Gallery presents the exhibition "Poetry and Myths of Jawlon Umarbekov", which will be held in Dubai from December 6, 2017 to March 6, 2018 under the patronage of Ulugbekhon Maksumov, president of INKAS Vehicles.

Javlon Umarbekov is one of the key figures in contemporary art of Uzbekistan: People's Artist of Uzbekistan, full member of the Academy of Arts of the Republic, as well as full member of the Academy of Arts of Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, professor of the K. Behzad National Institute of Arts and Design.

Any article on the art of this country on the Internet will indicate what an outstanding place the master occupies in culture. From the 1970s to the present day, Javlon Umarbekov successfully presents his art in prestigious exhibition halls and museums, both in Uzbekistan and abroad. His personal exhibitions were held at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, at the UN headquarters in New York, in the famous galleries of Kuwait, Japan, Austria, Germany, Turkey, China and other countries.

Today he is ranked among the classics, and he began, boldly stepping over the boundaries and strict norms of the past era. The artist offers an original interpretation of the Uzbek heritage and a free dialogue of the cultures of the West and the East. Creative freedom and a spirit of innovation are seen in all of this.

Umarbekov’s paintings of different years presented at the Andakulova Gallery show that the master is constantly in search of new ideas. He is like a true modernist looking for his original look and

a new plastic language, referring to simple and poetic subjects. The unfading tendency of the artist to stylistic metamorphoses always attracts the viewer. The motives of his paintings, taken from childhood memories and intertwined with the collective memory of the people and their history, are close and understandable to many.

Relying on traditional images and timeless values, Javlon Umarbekov avoids postmodern intellectual games and glamorous attractiveness in his work. The artist’s creative style is an individual interpretation of cubist principles, a bright and sonorous flavor. There is a certain retro in his painting - a memory that is read in the nuances and connections with the rebellious experimenters of modernism, as well as with the masters of the avant-garde of the twentieth century.

It was this thirst for continuity and innovation that determines the search for the Uzbek master that interested the organizers of the artist’s exhibition in the Andakulova Gallery, the opening day of which will be held on December 6, 2017 in Dubai.
