Turn your Tesla car into an unmanned UAE residents will cost $ 10 thousand

The American company Tesla will begin delivering its Model S and Model X customers to UAE customers starting in the middle of this year. Residents of the country will need to pay an additional $ 10,463 for an upgrade that allows cars to be completely unmanned.

Preliminary prices for Model S and Model X, exhibited in the UAE showroom, were $ 78,392 and $ 97,193, respectively. They do not include taxes, state fees and an additional fee of $ 463.

Earlier this month, the US company also announced the opening of its first regional exhibition hall and charging stations in Dubai.

According to the company’s emirate’s website, customers will first need to pay $ 5.2 thousand to get an improved autopilot, after which they can turn the car into a full-fledged unmanned vehicle, adding another $ 4.2 thousand.

Autopilot update doubles the number of active cameras from four to eight, which allows the Tesla to drive completely independently in almost any environment. The system is designed for trips over short and long distances and does not require any actions from drivers. The car initially comes with only one camera.

Tesla warns that unmanned driving functionality is dependent on software testing results and regulatory approval.

The company has prepared several calculation options for buyers from the UAE. Model S can be purchased by installments at a fixed interest rate of 2.5% with monthly payments starting from 10.1 thousand dirhams ($ 2.75 thousand) for 24 months; go 6.9 thousand dirhams ($ 1.8 thousand) for 36 months or 5.3 thousand dirhams ($ 1.4 thousand) for 48 months or 4.34 thousand dirhams ($ 1.18 thousand) for 60 months. The initial payment is 57.83 thousand dirhams ($ 15.7 thousand) in all cases.

The company offers similar payout options for Model X.
