In the UAE, smartphones are now sold in vending machines

In the United Arab Emirates launched a self-service station with smartphones.

On June 27, 2019, Etisalat telecommunications company introduced the first vending machine with smartphones in the UAE. It was developed in partnership with Adnoc Distribution, a leading fuel distributor and operator of fast food stores in the country. Using the machine, customers will be able to buy smartphones around the clock and without the participation of sellers.

The installation of the machine is part of a pilot project carried out by two companies in order to improve the quality of customer service. The first machine is at Adnoc Distribution Station at Abu Dhabi Corniche. To purchase a smartphone, you need a valid Emirates ID.

Sultan Muhammad al-Daheri, CEO of Etisalat Abu Dhabi, said: "We are pleased to work with Adnoc Distribution on this pilot project to promote and make Etisalat mobile products and services available in Abu Dhabi."

The vending machine offers a wide selection of telephones and accessories. The device accepts cash and cards.
