Dubai launches incubator for strong men

A new intensive training program for promising athletes will be held in the United Arab Emirates.

The World Ultimate Strongman project, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), launched the WUS Incubator, an innovative intensive training program that will help athletes with great potential to “grow” into professional athletes.

The official announcement of the WUS Incubator program was made on Monday, March 11, by His Excellency Said Hareb, DSC Secretary General, in the presence of Haftor Björnsson, Ultimate Strongman title holder and Game of Thrones actor.

Some of the biggest stars in power sports will come to Dubai to take part in a new initiative, get the opportunity to raise their level and demonstrate their strength in the fight against professionals. The incubator will provide all conditions for training and development.

Said Khareb said: “Since Dubai became the new home for Strongman after the extremely successful Ultimate Strongman in the world last year, the launch of this innovative WUS Incubator program is a natural step. We are pleased that Björnsson and Katona support this initiative with their presence and we thank Mark Boyd and his WUS team for all the work they have done to make this possible. We are confident that many strong people will go through this incubation program in the coming months and years. My best wishes to all participants. "

The first athlete to take part in the WUS Incubator program was the 24-year-old Larry Wills. He will arrive in Dubai in March and spend six weeks here before taking part in the World Log Lift Challenge.

WUS founder Mark Boyd said: "We are very pleased to start the program with Larry Wills and Haftor Björnsson and thank all our local partners for their support, especially the Dubai Sports Council."

In addition to the DSC, other local organizations will support the project. Fuel-Up by Kcal will provide nutrition for athletes. Participants will stay at the prestigious Meydan Hotel. The strongmen will be coached by the Emirates Strength team at the Train SF facility, while DISC and RehabNmotion will offer rehabilitation and rehabilitation. Recharge DXB will offer participants everything they need for relaxation and active tourism.
