In Abu Dhabi, police moved to camels

In the UAE metropolitan emirate, police recalled Bedouin traditions and saddled camels.

According to the police press service of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, camels were taken by the special order to the staff of the special patrol department in the Department of Criminal Security.

Major General Mohammed Khalfan al-Romati, the commander in chief of the Abu Dhabi police, confirmed the information and said that the initiative originated during the celebration of the United Arab Emirates Heritage Day.

"The police in the new unit received special training in accordance with advanced standards to fulfill their duties in crime prevention and public relations," Major General Al-Romati told the press.

"We continue to strive to ensure the security of Abu Dhabi and continue to use all possible means to improve security in the emirate," he added.

In the neighboring emirate of Dubai, from June 2017, the robot policeman patrols the area near the Burj Khalifa tower, the tallest building in the world.
