Etihad announces collaboration with couturier Diana von Furstenberg

Etihad Airways celebrates the 15th anniversary of its first flight with a partnership with Diana von Furstenberg.

Dubai, UAE. Etihad Airways, UAE's national carrier, celebrates 15 years since its first flight. Over the years, the company has reached the level of one of the leading airlines in the world. This important milestone in the development of the airline will be marked by a number of events and initiatives in Abu Dhabi and around the world, which will begin with the presentation of the results of exclusive cooperation with the cult New York couturier, Diane von Furstenberg.

Etihad Airways began flights on November 5, 2003 on the then-only Airbus A330-200, which made a symbolic flight to the historic city of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Al Ain. Regular commercial flights began on November 12 of the same year from Abu Dhabi to the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Now the national carrier of the UAE has the newest fleet of more than 110 modern Boeing and Airbus aircraft, flying in 84 directions of passenger and cargo transportation. Over 15 years, Etihad Airways has flown more than 840,000 passenger flights and transported 139 million passengers with the help of more than 22,000 people, consisting of talented individuals from 150 countries.

To celebrate the anniversary, Diana von Furstenberg, in collaboration with Etihad Airways, designed a limited collection of scarves and ties for the on-board crew, which were presented at an event with celebrities in the chic Louvre Abu Dhabi. The crew will wear new stylish accessories during the month of November to mark the 15th anniversary and 10-year partnership with the organizers of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi.

Three versions of the uniform have been developed for the crew as part of the airline's color palette: bright yellow for senior cabin crew, purple for the crew and white for food and drink managers.
