New app to enhance student safety in Dubai

A new application has appeared in Dubai, thanks to which parents can be sure of the safety of their children while they are sent to school.

Dubai's Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of its new smart app, the DTC School Bus. It allows parents to track the movement of their children on the way to school and back.

Parents receive notifications synchronized with the GPS satellite system when their children get on and off the buses.

According to RTA, the new technology is aimed at improving the safety of students, as well as a number of other initiatives. Within them, engine shutdown buttons on school buses are now located at the rear of the vehicle. The driver must go to the end of the bus to stop the engine. This ensures that all children leave the bus before the doors are locked.

The RTA Public Transport Agency also plans to launch an annual inspection of school buses and service providers to verify their compliance with the rules, including the intention to check for driver licenses.
