Dubai opens a single center for visa amnesty

Dubai Migration Services built tents for visa amnesty applicants.

Dubai, UAE. The Directorate General for Residency and International Affairs in Dubai has built two tents to receive visa amnesty applicants. The tents are located in the branch office in the Al Avir area and can simultaneously accommodate three thousand people.

The Visa Amnesty Center will operate from August 1 to October 31, from 08.00 to 20.00. The reception will be led by representatives of the Dubai Police, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization and the Directorate itself. In total, 40 reception windows will be opened in different languages, as well as a center for helping women with children.

The center in the Al Avir area will accept visa violators who do not have documents, but who want to leave the country without fines and a further ban on visiting the country. After issuing a permit, the applicant will have to leave the country within 21 days. The permit fee is 221 dirhams (US $ 60.5).

Those who want to legalize their stay in Dubai will be hosted by Amer Centers, which are 43 in Dubai during the same period. They will deal with the issue of paying off fines for late visas, Emirates IDs and work permits. Applicants will be able to renew their expired visas and get new ones at these centers. This will give them a chance to start a new life, according to the directorate.
