Dubai authorities will install free solar panels on the homes of citizens of the country

Emirates houses in the Hatta region, United Arab Emirates, will be equipped with solar panels for free.

The Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) installs free solar panels on the roofs of UAE citizens in the Hatta region.

This initiative is part of DEWA's efforts to promote environmental sustainability and make Dubai one of the most advanced cities in the world in terms of environmental responsibility. The initiative is also consistent with the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan.

The project aims to ensure that residents of the Hutta transfer from energy consumers to the status of clean energy producers. It must also contribute to protecting the environment for future generations.

Authorities have already visited Emirate’s houses in Hut to familiarize residents with the process of installing solar panels. DEWA representatives spoke about the project and its objectives, and introduced Etihad ESCO DEWA as the company responsible for management and technical oversight. The project is expected to be completed by February 2018.

"DEWA is a strategic partner in the implementation of the Hutta Integrated Development Plan, which was launched by the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. We are committed to encouraging Hatta residents to participate in Shams Dubai, a key component of Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, whose goal is to turn Dubai into an international center for clean energy and the green economy, ”said Mohammed Al Thayer, CEO of DEWA.
