At the end of the official part of the ceremony, in the center of the complex, the Kazakh flag was solemnly raised to the sounds of the anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Speaking by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UAE, Askar Musinov informed the guests about the achievements of Kazakhstan over 18 years of independence. In particular, it was noted that in 2010 Kazakhstan, the first of the post-Soviet states, was entrusted with the highest honor to head the authoritative international Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
In addition, the unique experience of Kazakhstan in maintaining interethnic and interfaith harmony was the main factor in making another important decision - the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2011 at the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
2009 was a continuation of fruitful cooperation between the UAE and Kazakhstan. The most important event of the outgoing year was the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev to the United Arab Emirates in March 2009.
At the end of the speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UAE once again thanked all the guests for the invitation and congratulated those present on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, wishing peace and prosperity to the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The reception was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the UAE, authoritative public figures, heads of various companies, representatives of print and electronic media of the host country, as well as Kazakhstanis working and studying in the United Arab Emirates.
The guests were presented with a photo-exhibition prepared by the Embassy of Kazakhstan and telling about the development of Kazakh-Emirate bilateral relations, political, economic and cultural life of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Along with the exhibition, invited guests were able to watch a slide show on Kazakhstan-Emirate relations, broadcast on the big screen.
