Sports star Mike Tyson will open boxing academy in Dubai.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson chose Dubai for the official announcement of his new venture, a chain of fitness centers opening under a franchise called Mike Tyson Academy (MTA). MTA has already gained international interest from institutions in the Middle East, Australia, France, West Africa and China.
Tyson, the youngest boxer to win the WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight titles at the age of 20, will hold a press conference with radio host Chris Fad in Burj Khalifa on May 4.
Mike Tyson noted that Dubai is well established internationally by hosting many notable sporting events.
“There is a niche in the market for a fitness center that is associated with quality and centered around a strong, complex philosophy like mine. I am sure that this will only be the beginning of a long-term, successful alliance between me and the region, ”said the boxer.
The academies will have cardio, strength, functional training and boxing classes. In every institution, a full-fledged boxing ring will be organized, as well as many group trainings and functional exercises that will improve the level of fitness training.
