Emirates began unification of tariffs for customs services

Since March 1, 2010, all customs posts of the United Arab Emirates have introduced uniform tariffs for 37 customs services, which will facilitate export and import procedures.

As Khalid Ali Al-Bustani, Director General of the UAE Federal Customs Authority, told the press, unified tariffs will be introduced on the basis of a decision by the UAE Cabinet of Ministers adopted in the framework of agreements on the creation of a common customs space in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council , and other international conventions. “Unification of tariffs for customs services will facilitate the implementation of import and export transactions. This step will be made within the framework of the plan developed by the UAE Federal Customs Service, which is aimed at maximizing the facilitation of all import and export processes in the UAE,” Al- commented Bustani.
