Italian designers would not be themselves if they did not make the Ferrari 458 Italia model as attractive and interesting as possible. The creators of the new English supercar are confident that the McLaren MP4-12C is by no means the reincarnation of the F1 car, but a completely new car. Up to the smallest screw. The number "12" is the internal coefficient of the company, showing the correlation of the parameters of its own supercar with competitors, and the letter "C" indicates that the model is made of carbon or carbon fiber, the material from which the most important parts of the new product are made.

The McLaren MP4-12C mid-engined two-seater supercar received a "single piece" carbon chassis, to which aluminum and special plastic body panels are mounted. Forcibly, the question arises about the engine, because F1 had a motor from BMW. In a press release, the British say that the eight-cylinder 3.8-liter engine with a 90 degree camber angle and two M838T turbines is their own development. It is equipped with a pair of turbochargers and a VVT system, thanks to which it is capable of delivering up to 600 horsepower. According to the developers, the maximum torque is 595 Nm, 80% of which is achieved even at 2000 rpm, and in general, the engine can develop up to 8500 rpm.

The management of the new sports car was entrusted to the seven-speed “robot” Graziano with two “wet” clutches and a choice of gears with shift paddles, which works in three main modes: Sport, Normal and High Performance.

It just doesn't smell like "mechanics", this time the designers and engineers wanted to surprise everyone with the Pre-Cog system. Her work is based on the principle of the camera: you just touch the box, and the program is already beginning to prepare it for work. After lightly pressing a key, the transmission instantly switches. From zero to hundreds, the new McLaren supercar will accelerate in about three seconds. The maximum speed of the car will be 320 kilometers per hour. But that is not all. The McLaren MP4-12C never ceases to amaze. The car is equipped with a Brake Steer system, which guesses the drift angle when turning and brakes the rear wheel.

Thus, the system takes into account the current speed and angle of rotation of the steering wheel, and also when leaving the corner does not allow the car to slip. In addition, the novelty received an active rear spoiler that can act as an air brake, electronically controlled adjustable shock absorbers, a full set of modern active and passive safety systems, carbon-ceramic brake discs (will be offered as an option), specially designed for supercar wheels Pirelli tires and Lamborghini-style hinged doors.

The creators decided to make the interior of the car as "classic" as possible. There are no buttons on the steering wheel, the climate control is located on the armrests.

The driver's seat and the passenger seat are located close to each other, which is associated with the weight of the car, if the distance was large, then the weight of the car would also increase. As for comfort, the seats have auto-adjustment, and a navigation system and a high-end audio system are also installed in the cabin. Visually, you can say that the McLaren MP4-12C with aerodynamic performance is fine. The British themselves assure us of this, claiming that they spent just crazy amounts on improving the aerodynamic coefficient.

The car will go on sale in the USA, countries of Europe and the Middle East only in 2011, its implementation will occur through the dealer network. First, about a thousand copies of this car will be released, which will allow McLaren Automotive to occupy 3.5% of the elite car market. However, according to experts, the demand for it will turn out to be much greater, despite its cost, which is in the range of 205-290 thousand euros.
