The German automaker BMW is about to auction two classic cars from a collection of rarities owned by the company in Dubai. At the auction, which will be held in October this year at the Royal Mirage Hotel in Dubai, two models will be presented - BMW M1 and BMW 3.0 CSL, which are considered the rarest examples of the automobile "heritage" of BMW.

The auction in October, which will sell cars from the collection of the German automaker, will be the first event of this kind. The BMW M1 is one of the rarest models, of which only 456 were produced. The model was produced from 1978 to 1981. based on an agreement between the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini and BMW on the construction of a racing car. The car was created to participate in races of the 4th and 5th groups. According to the regulations, in the 4th group only those cars were allowed that were produced in at least 400 units for 24 consecutive months, were equipped with at least two seats, and would have an outward resemblance to the production model.

The two-door BMW 3.0 CSL with a coupe was the company's first sports car released in 1972. Subsequently, this model began to be very popular not only on the road, but also on the racetrack.
