Dubai completes construction of Dubai Bypass Road

The Dubai Roads and Transport Committee (RTA) completed in mid-November the construction of the fourth phase of the Dubai Bypass Road major bypass. The construction work carried out as part of the fourth phase of construction connected Dubai Bypass Road with such roads as Al Faya Road, Seih Shuaib, Abu Dhabi, better known to Dubai motorists under the name "roads for freight transport".

This part of the highway is also adjacent to the new Al Maktoum International Airport in the Jebel Ali area. It consists of six lanes in each direction and extends for 25 km from the Dubai Bypass Road - Jebel Ali Lihbab Road interchange to Al Faya Road, already owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition, on this section of the road there are three special crossings for camel driving that can be used by motorists for turns. All work on the installation of lighting on the road, including the connection of electricity to lampposts, is completed. “Opening the fourth section of the Dubai Bypass Road, the RTA has completed work on it,” said Mattar Al Thayer, Chairman and CEO of RTA. “This highway starts at the border of the Sharjah emirate near the Al Sajaa Interchange traffic intersection and ends at the border with Abu Dhabi. The cost of construction work on the 70-kilometer stretch of the road amounted to 1 billion dirhams (US $ 273 million).”
