Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov visits the UAE

Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov paid a working visit to the UAE.

Dubai, UAE. On December 6, in Abu Dhabi, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov was received by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Muhammad bin Zaed Al Nahyan, met with the National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates Tahnun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Secretary General of the UAE High Security Council Ali Al Shamsi. On December 7, Mikhail Bogdanov held consultations with the UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Fares Mazrui at the UAE Foreign Ministry. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

During the talks, Mohammed Al Nahyan and other emirate leaders praised the achieved level of traditional friendship and multidisciplinary mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and the UAE, reaffirmed Abu Dhabi’s strong commitment to maintain an active and trusting political dialogue with Moscow, vigorously promoting the entire complex of bilateral partnership, including in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, investment and other fields.

As part of an in-depth exchange of views on a wide range of issues on the regional and international agenda, the main attention was paid to the development of the military-political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, the situation in the Palestinian territories, as well as the problems of Arab-Iranian relations. At the same time, the principled position of Russia and the United Arab Emirates on the need to consolidate the efforts of the international community in the interests of an early resolution of crisis situations through an inclusive constructive dialogue with a parallel decisive opposition to extremism and terrorism was confirmed.
